How I Learned to Stop Worrying, 5:02 (2019)
replacement animation of found printed material, with lasercut replacement sequences
music by Phillip Malcom
A poem of hope, despite looming apocalypses.

This is my CalArts first year short film. It was shot under camera on actual airline safety pamphlets using stop motion and replacement animation techniques.

Part of my process involved using Photoshop and Illustrator to generate a layout of sequential vector images which I later lasercut and laser-engraved to create replacement animation objects.
Laser cutting some planes and babies.
Rotoscoping from video reference in After Effects and laying out the resulting shapes in Photoshop for lasercutting.
